4th Flight Report, 11-25-2006

Morgan is off eating turkey in Atlanta but I had a chance to get the update before he left on vacation.  The goal for the last few hours has simply been to gain comfort and have fun while building some time. After vacation there will be a push to tuft test and map the flow on the airplane.

Morgan reported that it is getting more and more fun to fly each time.  Controls are well balanced and it is a joy to just cruise and enjoy the time in the sky.  An informal climb quickly put him at 13,000 feet with a continued 400+ fpm climb rate so the ceiling will end up well above that.  The only complaint was that it was a long trip down with the glide efficiency of the plane.  He was a little worried about shock cooling and it takes so little power to maintain altitude.  Maybe next time a descent will be tried with the speed brake position on the flaps.

In any event , all is proceeding well and it is down again to the details of making the instruments accurate.
